– work varies from skillfully crafted moccasins of clear plastic to the distorted interior of a palace made of paper. Drawing from a cacophonous amount of references, each decision is considered to provide an experience of unraveling, or setting of teeth on edge. The point of putting so many diverse and clashing intellectual materials together is to make it almost impossible to care about any one of them, and in turn degrade them. Through her studies of deculturalization, a process used to remove deeply seeded cultural traditions and beliefs used on Indians through the late 19th century and into the 20th, she has developed a sense that it is inadvertently happening to all of us. Ensues work displays her theories, taking us backwards in time to connect to her personal heritage and forward to our uncomfortable present. 

– builds mazes with minute cultural reference points. From French philosophy to Disney plots, she directs us towards the notion of deculturalization.  A process used on Indigenous peoples to remove any semblance of heritage or sense of self, and fathoms how that works more broadly on us all. Pondering what forces in contemporary society make us disassociate, and in turn rush towards cliques and clans.
