L.M. creates large masks and puppet-like beings using discarded industrial materials. The results are intimidating visions of L.M’s rural gods and goddesses. Representing peculiar characters like the harmless starer or the gregarious drunk. These artifacts become mythological, communicating a larger narrative that feels like the start of an Agatha Christie novel, where life, death, and community come into question.
– resettles Pagan influenced traditions and figures into modern rural life. Constructing a mysticism that bridges certain worn truths and tropes of country living and community with the realities of an evolving spectrum of humanity, leaving artifacts of staggering scale and odd materiality.
